Why Hire a Certified Professional Inspector?

InterNACHI CPI Seal

You’ll often hear that a home inspector is “experienced,” and that’s certainly a good thing. I have years of construction experience myself, but is that enough? Think of it this way: someone might spend years cooking, but that doesn’t make them a chef. And when you’re choosing a property inspector, you want a chef.

In our area, inspectors must maintain a contractor’s license with the Oregon Contractors Board and keep their home inspector license active. That requires passing an initial National Exam, which only some states use. So yes, you pass a test and receive a license.

But I wanted to go further. My goal has always been to be the best inspector I can be and give my clients the service that truly protects them and their investment.

  • Here’s why working with an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector, like me, makes a difference:
  • I stay up to date with the industry’s most rigorous Continuing Education through annual online, video, and live training courses. These programs have earned more than 1,400 approvals and accreditations from government and industry agencies.
  • I follow a comprehensive Standards of Practice to ensure you receive a detailed and accurate home inspection.
  • I follow a strict Code of Ethics that puts my clients first and protects their rights as consumers.
  • I use modern inspection tools and reporting software so you can make informed decisions about the homes you want to buy or sell.

So there you have it — why hire a “cook” when you can hire a chef?

New Homebuyer? How to Make Buying a Home Less Stressful

A thorough home inspection will keep you safe and protect one of your largest investments, but the process can be stressful! A home inspection is supposed to give you peace of mind, but often has the opposite effect.

You will be asked to absorb a lot of information in a short time such as a written report, a checklist, photographs, environmental reports, and what the inspector himself says during the inspection. Watch this short video for tips on making it easier.

Remember, having an inspector who will take the time to walk you through everything can make all the difference!
